Paving Materials
16. Stamped / Colored Asphalt – lame and useless, should never be used in any public project
15. Grasscrete – have never seen it work as advertised
14. Hot Coals – at least better than stamped or colored asphalt
13. Stamped / Colored Concrete – over used, but has its place
12. Asphalt Older Than One Winter
11. Concrete Older Than Two Winters
10. Fresh Asphalt or Concrete – beauty is fleeting, enjoy it now
9. Gravel – simple, permeable, inexpensive … dust is the only problem
8. Crushed Shells – pitch perfect for coastal areas (see: Cape Cod league ball diamonds, etc.) / Rotten Granite as a substitute in the Midwest
7. Chip & Seal (sealcoat) – many a fine farm road has been ruined by “progress”
6. Exposed Aggregate – interesting when dry, but slick as goose droppings when wet
5. Brick – should be a crime to asphalt / concrete over any brick street
4. Bluestone – perfection, and thus can’t be #1
3. Flagstone – Bluestone’s not so haughty brother
2. Glass - Skybridge insets and accent pavers at Veterans Memorial, at sunrise
1. Cobblestone – commitment, in a cube
+3 Any of the above when State or Fed taxes come back to help pay for it
