Fast food cheeseburgers, in ascending order of longing.
15. (tie) Checkers, Jack In The Box – Nasty
14. High School Mystery Meat – Enigmatic
13. (tie) Tastee Feeze, Dairy Queen – Just get some ice-cream.
12. Hardees – Used to be better.
11. Burger King – Flame-broiled. Nothing else good about it.
10. What A Burger – Variable.
9. Billy Goat – A better SNL skit than burger.
8. McDonalds – Best choice for high lateral G environments.
7.5 Wendys
7. In N Out – Close enough to bike or skateboard to these days.
6. Fuddruckers - They have the salt figured out just right.
5. Portillos – Their sixth best menu item is #5. That’s both pretty good, and leads to not eating very many of them.
4. Five Guys – Not certain the peanuts are really "free", given $10 burgers.
3. Smashburger – With swiss cheese and fried egg. Ya know, for brunch.
2. Culvers – While #3, #4, and #5 are objectively better, factoring in how much I miss them slots them in at #2.
1. Dog & Suds – Was it the Texasburger special sauce? Was it the high school bombshell carhops who were our girlfriends / future wives? I’ll say both.
Not scored - Steak n' Shake, because they are more diner than fast food, and Shake Shack, because (in keeping with my general policy of avoiding New York) I haven't had one.
